1984 is here!

War is Peace! Help is hurt!

George Orwell would be "proud" of georgie's latest example

Haven't they suffered enough in SoCal??

Now they have to put up with this too? Is there no justice?

Here is a proposal I could endorse!!

Not sure Richardson is the person I could vote for but this education proposal sure makes a ton of sense. My daughter has been subjected to the dumbing down of her education for the last 6 years. So much time is taken from class to prepare for the test, and taking the test, it is a bit ridiculous. Even from the standpoint of making sure that all kids learn at least a bare minimum, this testing process is flawed. Teachers are less engaged due to the boredom of the routine imposed, almost as detrimental as the kids lack of enthusiasm is towards education. So as soon as we can repeal/drop stop funding 'Every Child Left Behind' (from georgie and the GOP), the better off our nation will be.

How to make george bush look better?

Well the GOP has finally found a way to make georgie look like he can be articulate.

Need anything else be said

Saw this article/post by a Senator. Wonder why we don't hear more about this from the supposedly liberal media? Because we haven't had a liberal media for at least 16 years, and with what Reagan and Bush 41 got away with it is more like 26+ years.

When do the Impeachments start??

We have had over 6 years of lies and threats. We have had our Liberty's trampled on, we have suffered more from the current 'government' than we should tolerate.
For the lies and illegal activities that they have perpetrated on us The People they should be Impeached!!

What part of government is the VP office? Not the un-elected dick cheney, but the Office of the Vice President? Executive? Legislative? Judicial? Well if you listen to the criminal cheney, it just depends on what day of the week it is and who wants him to follow his Oath of Office.
How about the head of the last 2 losing Presidential Tickets (that's right george w)? How about All of the lies and misrepresentations he has verbalized or caused others to say (or not say)?

(I see the next generation of george, dick and karl rove are out there too, all for the 'war' but gee I have something else going on in my life)

When will the sleeping American People wake up and demand that our government get back to doing our work and solving problems that need to be solved. Instead of letting them get away with drumming up wars and covering up their lies and ruining our Country!!

Interesting antics by a Moron

Well the unelected VP has a new and interesting comment, he is not part of the Executive branch.. I wonder how in the world he came up with that (other than desperation as CYA , again and keep everything secret so he doesn't go to Jail)

A thoughtful article on Pot

Recent article from a sports writer that I generally try to read. He is talking to the most recent NFL 'issue' regarding Ricky Williams.

Camera Issues again

Finally have my camera back. If you follow along, you will know that I sent my camera in for service just last July, to be cleaned, dust on the sensor...got it back fairly quickly. Well this year, less than 9 months later, I had a few more spots that were just in the way for light background pictures. Tried to do the air cleaning, you know move the dust/dirt around with air, and hope the place it lands in outside the picture. It didn't work, still had spots. So a week ago Wednesday, sent it off to Canon again, to get it cleaned. Got it back yesterday, shortly going to check it out, and try my first picture for the weekly contest, hopes it is clean.

I have been reading online about others that are/were skeptical about trying to clean their sensor's themselves. There is a web site about one method, the Copper Hill method. I had stumbled across it while researching a little about how to prevent/ or self-clean my camera. Ironically a few days later a buddy came across an article on one of his reader feeds. He had just started to use this same Copper Hill method and thought it was useful and safe with in reason.

Will probably try this myself, next time (if there is one haha) I have dust on the sensor. However, I will try to be more diligent in preventing the problem, before it gets there!!

Interesting

Was just looking around the net tonight and came across a fun/funny article from a feed I just starting viewing through Google Reader. The feed is from kottke, and the article was by a guy named Nick Tosches. He is a writer and contributing editor for Vanity Fair magazine. His search was a riot!

New vs. Old - Change

Going through some transitions at work right now. Have new responsibilities, but working in the same area. The transition though may take a while, so for now doing both old things (waiting to turn them over) and working on new things trying to get up to speed.

It got me to thinking about the difference between comfortable, old, known, static vs. new, unknown, challenges, change. Some people get furniture and place it in their living room and never move it. Or at work, how bad would it be to do exactly the same thing year after year after year? Some people come home for the day and have dinner and watch TV and go to bed and get up the next day and do it all over again, how boring!

Are you willing to do new things, how exciting. Learning new things, trying out challenges you never knew existed? Changing your routine? Move the furniture in your living room and take a new view of the world just from your window! Change in all areas of your life can be good and positive!

Now you could look at my last post and realize that I have been with the same great woman for over 2 decades and some might say 'Oh I wonder if he is bored in that part of his life, is he saying he wants to go with a new model?' And the answer would be an emphatic NO!!!

While she is, at her core the same wonderful person I fell in love with, she has grown and changed through the years. We have been experiencing life and love together, and I wouldn't trade the years we have gone through. We have had good times and bad times, but the struggles and the trying is part of the fun of living! When you crossover and get past the rough patches, the good times are then just that much better for having someone to share all of life with. It takes work to stay with the same person through the years, but it is rewarding work, and fun and challenging. If your relationship was stagnant or your partner never changed, how boring would that be? But to learn and grow and share with someone through years and decades, how absolutely blissful!! We will continue to travel through life together, side by side, Watching Learning Growing Experiencing all the new things we each bring to the other!!

Valentine's Day

Well another Valentine's Day come and gone...spent a bunch of time today thinking of my sweetie , she was home while I was at work. We now have celebrated 27 Valentine's together. Each one is better and better! I Miss her when we are apart, and Love her more when we are together.

I can't even begin to imagine my life without her. I have learned and grown so much over the years, just being in her sphere. She is always doing something to learn and strive and grow. She is interested in so many things and has included me in all of her journeys. Speaking of journeys she is inviting me to France later this Spring. We are headed to Paris in Springtime, what a lovely romantic place to be!!

My Wife and my Life Partner, I think I'll keep her...

Home for a few days

Took some time off from work, so I have a 4 day weekend. Was supposed to meet with 1 of my sisters in Portland Or. She had a business conference there and was going to come in early, and we were going to drive over to spend some time. Well for a few different reasons, it ended up not working out and we stayed home.
What it did do for us though was to get some time at home, alone. So we just kicked back, and hung out. On Saturday we went on a short shopping trip, getting stuff for our upcoming "Tour of France". Then Sunday worked on Income Taxes, played some games, took my daughter to town to see her boyfriend and generally just had fun.
Today, I am trying to get Cynthia to start blogging again. She hasn't blogged in over a year because "It's too hard", "I don't get it", "It takes too long".... Well hopefully, if I can get her going, I will follow through and blog too.

Political Rant

OK, so maybe you know maybe you don't...I am a Liberal! through and through. No doubt about it. I hardly believe that we have actually survived the dark ages since 2000, actually begun in '94 when the Democrats lost control of the Congress.

Since the Republican take over of Congress in '94, The Contract ON America (Gingrich starts the assault on the Middle and Lower classes), the late 90's with the Lewinsky "scandal" (you remember, 2 adults consensually making decisions that had nothing to do with anyone else), GW stealing the election in 2000, Tax Cuts, EVERY Child Left Behind school initiative, Oil "conference" by Cheney, WMD, Enron, more Tax Cuts, War in Iraq, Loss of personal freedoms, Halliburton, Prez Election issues in 2004 the list is endless.

Finally in 2006, we have a glimmer of hope, Democrats regain the House and barely have an edge in the Senate. Suddenly we have movement in the Congress. Minimum Wage increase seems imminent, Tax Cuts will not be continued, Investigations into the Lies that led to War in Iraq (yes Saddam was horrible, is what is going on now, Civil War better?).

Please look at the link to the right, or choose another candidate that will move us forward, and not back to the Dark Republican era (1994 to 2006) we recently left.
